Studio Policy
Effective September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025
Private Lessons​ (in-person and online)
Fees
$30 for a 30-minute lesson
$40 for a 45-minute lesson
$50 for a 60-minute lesson
Books, sheet music, and other published course material must be purchased by the student.

Payment
Payment for lessons is due monthly, on the first lesson of the month, cheque or e-transfer. Invoices will be emailed on the last day of each month for the next month's lessons.

Attendance & Lesson Cancellations
Please arrive on time and ensure that in-person students are picked up promptly. If the student is late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
Lesson cancellations by students require a 48-hour notice in writing (email or text message). The lesson fee will become a credit (maximum 1 lesson) transferred to the next month. No refunds offered.
Cancellation due to student’s illness may be communicated on the same day of the lesson, but must be communicated in writing at least 3 hours before the lesson time.
Late cancellation or absence without prior notice will NOT receive credit or refund.

Lesson cancellation by the teacher for lessons that have been paid will become credit for the following month.

No make-up lessons are offered.

Online Lessons
Online lessons are held on Zoom. Please ensure that ‘original sound for musicians’ is turned on.
Students who attend in-person lessons may switch to an online lesson if they are not physically able to attend for any reason. To switch a scheduled in-person lesson to virtual, please communicate through writing at least 3 hours before the lesson time. Missed virtual lesson time due to short notice or technical difficulty will not receive credit.

Termination of Lessons
Students may choose to withdraw from lessons at any time. No refunds will be issued should they choose to cease lessons before the end of the month.
Students who miss multiple lessons, with our without notice may result in termination of lessons.
Disregard for these policies and disruptive or disrespectful behaviour during the lesson time (or another student’s lesson time) will be dealt with immediately and may result in termination of lessons.
Accompaniment
Fees
Rehearsals at my studio is $50/hour. Rehearsals at the client’s location is possible with an additional travel fee. Parking must be provided.
For performances, fees vary depending on the type, location, length, and level of performance.
Minimum charges deposit may apply based on the length and difficulty of the music.
Payment
Payment for rehearsals is due by the end of each rehearsal through e-transfer.
Payment for performances/exam etc. is due before the start of the performance through e-transfer.
The minimum charge is due at the time of booking and will go towards rehearsal/performance fee.
Attendance & Lesson Cancellations
Cancellations require a 24-hour notice in writing (email or text message). Late cancellations or no show fee will apply.
Group & Semi-Private Theory Lessons (online only)
All group and semi-private theory lessons communications must be done through email.

Books, RCM online courses, and other published course material must be purchased by the student.
Payment
Payment of the full course is due 72 hours before lesson one.
Attendance
Lessons are held on Zoom. Parental participation is required for students under 7.
Cancellation & Termination of Lessons
Cancellations of specific sessions are unavailable. No refunds or credits will be issued for a missed class. No make-up lessons are offered.
Withdraw of the entire course is available until 72 hours before Lesson one. The tuition fee will be refunded.
Withdraw of the course is available until 2 hours before the start time of Lesson five.
i. Between 72 hours before Lesson one and 2 hours before Lesson one, refunds will be calculated as follows: full course fee minus $50.00.
ii. Between 2 hours before Lesson one and 2 hours before Lesson five, refunds will be calculated as follows: full course fee minus $50.00 and minus $33.00 multiplied by the number of lessons taken place.
